Studies show women who have a doula have a:
39% decrease in risk of cesarean birth
10% decrease in use of medications for pain relief in labor
31% decrease in risk of being dissatisfied with their birth experience
31% reduced risk of pitocin usage
Shorter labor by average of 40 minutes
The list can go on!
The word Doula in Greek means “servant” to a child-bearing woman. A more recent description that I love is “One who mothers the mother."
A doula is a non-medical, trained birth worker who emphasizes support for the mother and her family during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. Doulas provide emotional, educational and physical support, which are all key for a successful and beautiful birth!
"I highly recommend Olivia! She is the most caring and amazing doula I’ve ever met! She made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. With her help I was able to have an all natural labor that went very smoothly! She taught me so many different methods to help with my labor, and even gave us advice for partner support during labor. I couldn’t do it without her and will be hiring her again for my next pregnancy! 10/10"
